"Mortgage Loan Officer"
Loan Officers represent NJ Property Mortgages in the local community by developing
relationships with, promoting products/services to and generating referral
business from Realtors, Builders and other potential business partners.
Responsibilities involve assisting in the creation and execution of the branch
Strategic Business Development Plan. Selected individuals will also work with
the Branch Manager in identifying target accounts for active outside business
development efforts including participation in open houses and conventions. When
appropriate, Loan Officers market the Countrywide Partners Program to business
partners as a means of increasing production opportunities.
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year experience originating residential loan applications
Currently generating a minimum of 4+ new purchase fundings per month, with
proven ability to generate a minimum of 6-8 fundings per month.
Knowledge of and relationships with the local Realtor/Builder community with
demonstrated ability to interact effectively with these customers and other
business partners
Full understanding of the selling process with experience
developing/implementing targeted marketing and sales plans
Thorough working knowledge of:
Pre-qualification principles and practices
HELOCs/Fixed seconds and ability to cross-sell
Conventional (conforming and non-conforming), FHA and VA loan products with
ability to price and originate all loan types
Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and organizational skills
Ability to work flexible hours on a regular basis with mandatory availability on
weekends
Strong PC proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
High school education or GED equivalent (related college degree preferred)
Home Loan Consultant (Internal)
Responsibilities:
- Converts consumer leads and sets up loan files.
- Responds to inquiries from potential borrowers regarding loan programs and
loan processes, including application, qualifying, escrow, closing, refinance,
HELOC, etc.
- Accepts loan applications.
- Obtains credit documentation, disclosures and other forms.
- Performs clerical functions and associated processing work to ensure
compliance.
- Delivers exceptional customer service..
- Initiates and maintains contact with brokers, Realtors, selling agents, etc.
- Assists in developing and implementing business plans and monitoring branch
performance.
- Analyzes credit documentation for creditworthiness.
Requirements:
-A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of mortgage banking experience in a direct-selling or customer
support capacity (with at least 3 years of junior underwriting experience).
- Experience originating residential loan applications.
- Experience working in a team setting, where close cooperation and
collaboration are essential.
- Experience in selling in person or over the telephone.
- Experience building customer relationships.
- Working knowledge of the mortgage lending process, including the fundamental
elements of quality customer service.
- An understanding of the importance of communication with customers.
- An understanding of mortgage lending pre-qualification principles and
practices.
- Working knowledge of the processing and analyzing of residential loan
applications.
- Knowledge of mortgage lending statutes (TILA, ECOA, RESPA, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of marketing principles.
- Working knowledge of document flows.
- Proficiency in software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- A college degree.
